Broadcast an instruction

A broadcast sends an instruction to people, teams or all authorized recipients. It keeps a record of sending and tracks requested acknowledgements or answers.

The module must be active and you need permission to broadcast. Sending starts when preparation opens; it is unavailable for a draft event.

Prepare the broadcast

1. Open Broadcast, then Broadcast.
2. Choose Information for an instruction or Question to request one of two answers.
3. Choose To: teams, people or everyone within the available audience.
4. Write a short message explaining what people should do. Stay within the displayed limit.
5. Choose urgency and, if useful, Request an “I have read this” acknowledgement. Check channels, including optional email.

A question has exactly two answers. The recipient count removes duplicates and the sender; at least one active recipient is required.

Review and send

Open confirmation with Broadcast, review the message, recalculated audience and channels, then Broadcast now.

Recipients are fixed when sent. Adding someone to the event later does not add them to that broadcast. A sent message cannot be rewritten; use a new correction broadcast linked to the original.

Read the tracking

Opening the message and acknowledging I have read this are different actions. For a question, recipients select one of the offered answers. Open broadcast details to distinguish sending, opening and the expected response.

Device notifications also depend on device setup and available channels. A created broadcast does not prove everyone read the instruction. Use chat for an open conversation.
