Create an event template

Prepare an “Evening concert” template that you can reuse for several dates.

Before you start

Work in the right organisation, on a computer, with permission to manage event templates. To follow the whole example, create a timeline first. Teams you want to propose must already exist in the organisation.

1. Create and name the template

  1. Open Event templates in the organisation menu.
  2. Select New template. The new template editor opens directly.
  3. In General information, enter “Evening concert” in Template name and add a description that helps your colleagues.
  4. Select Save when changes are pending.

2. Prepare information and people

Browse the configuration sections to choose requested fields, default teams and proposed leads. Request only information useful to this format.

In Modules & visibility, check which modules are needed and which teams can see them. Some modules depend on others: follow the on-screen explanation if an option cannot be disabled.

Save changes before leaving a section. If a dialog warns about unsaved changes, choose whether to save, discard or stay to finish them.

3. Associate your timeline

  1. Open Run sheet. If this section is missing, check that the Run sheet module is enabled.
  2. Find the Frame group.
  3. In Default milestone list, choose “Evening concert”, the timeline prepared earlier.
  4. Select Save.

The field is labelled “Default milestone list”: it selects your timeline of milestones. Prepare the other run sheet settings as needed.

4. Check before using it

Return to the list, then reopen the template. Check its name, selected timeline, modules and proposed teams. Your settings should have been retained.

Expected result

The template is ready to select when creating an event. It has not created a dated event yet. Continue with Create your first event from a template.
