Record facts in the log

The log records event facts in time order. It combines manual entries and, depending on settings, facts from other tools: run sheet, checklists, attendance or broadcasts.

You need access to the relevant logbook. Recording, acknowledging, editing, marking confidential or signing requires the corresponding permissions.

Record a fact

  1. Open Activity log, then Event, a team or another available logbook.
  2. Under Record a fact, check the Destination.
  3. Summarize the fact in What just happened?, for example “North entrance reopened at 6:20 pm”.
  4. Choose the appropriate criticality. Open Details to add a description and complete requested fields.
  5. Attach useful evidence if needed, then Publish.

The entry records its author and timestamp. If it does not appear, check the selected logbook and filters: a published entry may fall outside the current view.

Choose who can read

The destination determines which logbook receives the fact. All gathers what you are authorized to view; it does not make every entry public.

When permitted, Confidential restricts reading to authorized people from publication. A high criticality describes the fact; it does not replace confidentiality settings.

Review and follow up

Use search, filters, Timeline or Table, then open an entry for its details and discussion. An acknowledgement means an authorized person has seen it; it does not automatically mean an issue is resolved.

Depending on permissions and logbook rules, you can edit an entry, promote it to the event or withdraw it with a reason. Withdrawing retains a trace rather than erasing history.

Close the logbook

Signing becomes available when closing conditions are met. The first signature freezes the logbook during collection; an authorized reopening starts a new collection while retaining previous signatures.

Export provides a snapshot for review. See Log settings to adapt fields or levels.
